Demac Homes is focused on the development of sustainable housing solutions. At Demac Homes we give special attention to protecting the environment and we are committed to providing our clients with quality and cost effective ways to help save the environment.
Below is a list of inclusions designed to help reduce harmful effects on the environments and help you save money:
Rainwater Tank
All homes are provided with a 5,000l rainwater tank with an external tap to allow hosing for gardens. The tank is also plumbed to toilets and laundry to help you save water.
Waters Saving Taps
All homes are fitted with AAA water efficient shower heads which use a third of the water of a conventional shower head.
Heating and Cooling
All homes are designed with their solar orientation being of the greatest importance. Demac Homes uses highly rated insulation in the ceiling and thermal building paper around the walls to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. This decreases reliance on air conditioning and heating saving you money in the process. All homes are rated by a certified energy assessor and are provided with an energy efficiency certificate. See www.qbears.com.au for more information.
Eaves
Having 600mm wide eaves on your home will keep your home cooler in summer decreasing the need for artificial cooling.
Energy
Demac Homes uses energy efficient fluorescent globes which last up to 8-10 times longer and are 5 times more efficient than incandescent globes.
Solar Power (optional)
1.48kW Photo-voltaic system including 1.6kW Latronics PVE1200 grid connect inverter. The electrician installs 8 x 185w panels which produce 1.48kW of solar energy. These panels are connected to the power grid connect inverter which allows the solar electricity to be converted into household electricity and the surplus power produced is sold back into the grid. This system reduces your carbon footprint and saves on the occupiers power bill.
Gas Hot Water
All homes have a gas hot water system installed. The benefits of using gas rather than electricity include reducing a household’s greenhouse gas emissions by around two tonnes a year.
